You see it too much these days. ‘Why is this idiot driving so slow/fast?’ ‘How can they believe that about vaccines?’ ‘How can they think that about the homeless situation?’ We have these opinions and we’ve been told that we need to loath that other side. It define our identity and we think it identifies their identity even more. It’s an illusion though and it serves as a cancer in your soul and in humanity to hold hate for others. We all know it but we do it anyway because there isn’t an alternative offered. Well here’s an alternative I’ll offer; love them anyway. Know that they are us and we are them. None of us that is here now or ever has been operates alone. We are all one and we should love ourselves and others the same.
Let’s make a point to revolt against the voices and networks that are driving us apart. Instead of looking at others with a side eye because they drive a diesel truck or an electric car, just wave and smile. I make a point of waving at everyone I see in my neighborhood. I do it selfishly because I figure if I can make my neighborhood a little happier and a little more connected then I live in a happier place and that serves me well. Serve yourself well and we’ll have a more connected society. Be radically kind.
